Accessibility statement
Access is part of clinical care, not an add-on. If something here does not work for you, that is useful information — please say so.
Our commitment
Somara Therapy & Wellness aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is treated as ongoing work rather than a one-time certification: as content changes, it is re-checked.
The same principle applies inside sessions. Every movement, breath, imagery or qigong invitation is optional and adapted to comfort, access, and ability. You never need to move in a particular way to participate.
What this site does
Semantic HTML structure with one clear heading level per page and a logical heading order, so screen-reader users can navigate by landmark and heading.
Full keyboard operability. Every link, button, accordion and image carousel can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is always visible — never removed.
A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element on every page.
Color contrast checked against WCAG AA. Gold is used as a structural accent; where gold appears as text on a light ground it is darkened until it passes.
Reduced-motion support. When your operating system requests reduced motion, animations, parallax and scroll reveals are switched off rather than merely shortened, and content is shown in its final state.
Text that reflows and scales. Layout uses relative units, so browser zoom and larger default text sizes do not break the page.
Descriptive alt text written for each image's purpose. Images that carry no information are marked decorative so assistive technology can skip them.
Image carousels do not advance on their own. Nothing on this site moves, scrolls or updates automatically, so there is no motion you have to race or pause.
Session accessibility
Sessions are held over secure video. If video is difficult for you — bandwidth, sensory load, privacy at home, or any other reason — say so during the consultation and we will discuss what can be adapted.
This site publishes no audio or video. If media is added later, captions and a transcript will be published with it.
If you use assistive technology during sessions, or need materials in an alternative format, please raise it early so it can be arranged properly.
Known limitations
Therapy scheduling, paperwork and the client portal are operated by SimplePractice, and coaching scheduling and packages are operated by Practice Better. Both are third-party interfaces governed by their own accessibility statements, and Somara does not control either one.
Booking, intake and payment therefore happen outside this site. If you meet a barrier in one of those systems, contact Somara directly using the details below and the step will be completed with you another way.
External research and organizational links open on sites Somara does not control and may not meet the same standard.
Tell us what is not working
If you encounter a barrier on this site, or need information in another format, please email or call using the details below. Describe the page and what happened; you do not need to know the technical cause.
Reports are answered during business hours, generally within two business days. This inbox is not monitored continuously and is not appropriate for emergencies.
